TO THE RHYTHM OF NATURE

A suggestive house in Chianti designed by architect Filippo Cei.

Tuscany is an ancient land where the elements of the landscape combine in ever new designs and familiarly coexist with rural homes, both old and new. Like this country house a few kilometers away from Florence, in the heart of Chianti, entirely designed by architect Filippo Cei. A house that revives the colors of the earth and the ancient rural soul, but with current elements of great scenic interest.

The heart of the house is the kitchen island designed by architect, in which the wall clock elegantly marks the passage of time. Adjacent to the kitchen is the living area, featuring a Corten steel fireplace.

The materials chosen are hot and tactile. The colours, soft and enveloping, span in the shades of white and gray. Modern details come alongside historic pieces, giving the feelings of warmth and intimacy. Like the many ceramics by Bitossi Home.

Other common elements are the wide boarded oak floor and the white plastered walls that enhance the overall brightness.

The upstairs sleeping area has been thought of as a large suite with a master bedroom, a bathroom and a walk-in closet. This environment is also entirely custom-made, from illumination to door handles. Wood, natural stones, refined and precious fabrics enrich all rooms, dosed at best byFilippo Cei’s capable hands.

The personality of materials and furnishings is complemented by that of nature that, although very imposing, has not affected the designer’s choices. Outside, among olive and cypress trees, there is a swimming pool and a serene stone terrace. An oasis of tranquility and well-being, a home halfway between the echoes of a past century and the glitter of a near future.
