CALLIGARIS GIVES NISHIKI RESTAURANT A NEW LOOK
Opened in 2005 in the area of the former Porta Romana railway station in Milan, the Nishiki restaurant has recently been renovated by Naos Design studio.
The interiors of the restaurant – specializing in Japanese cuisine – rely on a palette of colors ranging from green to blue, relaxing nuances that perfectly match the wood and gold metal chosen for some of the finishes. The ceilings are enlivened by a gilded metal drapery that moves along the perimeter of the main dining room and draws its outlines. The Nishiki has an area of 300 sqm, divided into five different zones. The three main dining rooms are furnished with seats that belong to the Calligaris collection.
These are the Fifties chairs, with brass structure and ocean blue velvet cover, and the Igoo Soft armchairs, with smoke wood base and soft upholstery covered with forest green velvet. In the main room, in addition to the Calligaris seats, there are also bespoke quilted sofas designed by Naos studio with brass tubular structure and heat-treated oak backrest covered with the same velvet as the chairs. The lighting has been designed to give the restaurant a relaxing and intimate atmosphere. The lamps were supplied by Linea Light Group: they are dimmable LED luminaires controlled by a home automation system that allows to set up different lighting scenarios.
